hello!
Just met up with two JC close frens today. Had a good time..was supposed to go to snow city, but it didn't open until 2pm. So, we decided to go back to Jurong entertainment centre instead. Hehe, where we spotted the last existing Quickly.

Today was a day when I remembered all the JC stuff.
1) Was introduced to Quickly by Sandia (VJC)
2) Saw two guys fr VJC from my batch at Jurong entertainment centre, prob ORD already and going into uni this year
3) XT and eunice and I were talking abt what amkes us upset, and we recalled whether we ever were in JC.

We recalled how I cried in JC because pple were irresponsible in IT council. I was really angry and thought also that pple around me didn't care two hoots how I felt.
I proudly declared this afternoon, over lunch that, "if it were me now, I wouldn't cry"
haha, and both of them said, u never noe!!!!

Probably...
but now looking back, indeed have grown, and become more resiliant(haha). I still love to cry, but I think I can't stop at crying only. It never gets anywhere. NEed to analyse, think also about how the situation can be improved. =) Talk to pple etc etc...

Also had tuition today, my kid asked me, is it that I have no more hope? He was playful in sec2, got streamed into a class w/o A maths and now taking sub sci...
but now very hardworking and doing well. But the JCs may not allow him to take 2 sciences cos he din take a maths and pure sci. Anyway, he was very worried, and asked me to help him find out.
I told him..hey, if that's really the case, maybe u can take one more year to study A maths, and enrol later into JC?? Go to a private sch, and also study pure sci? But he said..then aren't I gonna be late for one year?

Hmm..in my opinion, there's really nothing that is not achievable if you really want it.
For diff of us, diff barriers stop us from pursuing our dreams. May be a weakness we never seem to breakthru of, a family we can never change, opportunities we never have...a stammer we can never stop having...a habit we can never change...

Just have to go for it!!!!! And have hope!
Hope doesn't just mean feeling good, thinking good.
It means taking steps towards it. =)

Just some thots fr me..!! Gambette!

Just had my last day of work last friday. Really happy and enjoyed myself at work. =)
I think I will really miss the work, I'm really interested in the topic of Social Enterprise. So inspired that I'm gonna take social work for the new semester, and hopefully learn more about this sector, so that I may even start my own SE.
Boss asked if I would continue part time. I really dun mind, and am q excited abt doing so. Thing is that I might not have enough time when sch reopens, and then gonna be a cell group leader as well. (yay, I'm confessing it in faith)

But I learnt much, that I musn't go about wasting my time being a mediocre. Now being a mediocre is very much subjective. But I'm q certain that I wanna pursue a dream that is larger than myself, I wanna live out something great. Indeed, the Lord has placed in each one of us seeds of greatness. The new age teaching is this...by Robert Kiyosaki or Jed Emerson or Mechai or Peter Brinckerhoff . Any way, there's a whole new literature and philosophy or doing business with ethics. ==> also business is not just the business of business, but business is something larger...abt fulfilling a dream, abt helping others along the way, abt positive thinking, and having a vision etc. Business men are helping others to find their success==> rise of venture philantrophy etc.

Ohh, just blabbering non stop, but the issue is, God has placed in each one of us such an ability to visualise, dream, and do great things! Can u imagine the great potential each one of us has? I get so excited reading abt these great men, and the positive effects it has on the disadvantaged.

What does christianity gotto do with it. Many things. The thing is, before anyone spoke of positive thinking, the bible already says we must think of "whatever things are noble, whatever things are just...whatever things are of good report, if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things"(Phillippians 4:8)
Who was the greatest giver? Who gave man the best gift, so that he could live out his potential?
Who said the wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous?
Who said we had talents, and could grow and multiply them?

wow, the bible is filled with many truths that mankind need!

Worship and Adoration

Many of us have no problems praying and reading the Word. These are very "natural" things to do, and require "sense knowledge".
But when it comes to adoration...that becomes hard to do cos it requires a complete surrender of our own agenda, and just coming before the Lord and acknowledging His greatness.

Sometimes the words "I adore You", can be sang by mere lip service, and its a struggle to even let go and say to God, yes, I really adore You Lord. The words don't come out cos we don't adore God, and don't see how the word "adore"..such a strong word, can be used on someone we can't see and feel.

Worship is not an outward action, but it is an inward attitude that will bring us right close to God, into the Holy of Hollies. When we are able to surrender to the Lord and trust Him, I assure you that everything else falls into place.

I like the way Tommy Tenney says it in "The God Chasers". Using the analogy of himself and his daughter, he says of how he rocks his daughter to sleep. Before falling asleep, his daughter tells him of the playground accidents, or how she failed her spelling test etc. These seem like big problems to her.

"I always try to reassure her that everything will be all right in those moments because she is resting in my arms and because I love her. It doesn't matter what anyone said on the playground, and none of her little failures have any power to hurt her because she is in my arms...That is when my little girl just lays her head back to look at me with her eyes half open and give me her little smile. The only way I know how to describe it is that her face displays sheer adoration and complete security in those moments...

God wants us to do the same thing. Too often we come to Him at the end of our day and "worship" Him with permanufactured mechanics and memorized words. Then, since we are almost totally absorbed with our "playground" offenses and the temporal problems of the day, we lay back in His presence just long enough to say our string of words and deliver our wish list. Then we jump up and run off to continue our frustrated rat-race lives. Often we never seem to find that place of perfect peace."

Let us learn to truly worship God...

I'm going through a series of bible study now on the tabernacle of God. In the outer courts, that is where we know God as our saviour, we are forgiven, cleansed, and a new man is born! When we come into the Holy place, this requires a surrender of our will, intellect and emotions to God. And to enter into the Holy of Hollies, we need to worship Him and have a revelation of who He is! In the Holy of Hollies, there are no lights, only God Himself is our light. We need to wait upon Him today...we don't want to just know Him today as our saviour. Let's move into the Holy of Hollies! =) Where we can be obedient to His word, and truly say that we KNOW Him.

Choosing a boyfriend

How do you explain to someone why you only want a christian for a boyfriend? And not just a christian, but also one who would love God as you do, and love God more than he loves you. Daddy asked why sis and I were so narrow minded. Well, u can always convert him after you get attached you know? Explained to him how you can love both A and B, but if B and A are enemies, u feel really upset. The best situation is when both A and B love each other and you love them both!
I think a lot of christians just see the Lord as part of their lives, but if He is your everything, then I think it matters a lot how you choose your partner in life. I do believe that seek thee first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and He will add all unto you! It is He who will always provide the best man, and we both can serve Him together! =)
Now that we get older, parents begin to get worried and share that we need to find someone who has the drive, someone who will give us a good life. Wow, what happened to the notion of romance? Replaced by bread and butter issues. Balance is absolutely the key to life! Neither romance nor bread and butter issues should dominate, but need to think of a bigger perspective and live as a mature adult! Hehe, some thoughts from a girl turning 21!
